Has Matt Cardona left the building?
At GCW Blood on the Hills, Cardona teamed up with his fiancé, Chelsea Green, to face their bitter rivals, Effy and Chelsea Green. “The Deathmatch King” flipped off his not-so-loving GCW fans, including a little kid, on his way to the ring, but the child gave him the middle finger salute.

The two teams waged war in a chaotic match where Green got busted open after Cardona accidentally hit her with the Internet Championship. Here’s how the match culminated, courtesy of our play-by-play coverage:
Effy throws a chair at Cardona, but Green hits him below the belt. Somehow, Effy kicks out of the Radio Silence. Katch evades Cardona, and he accidentally blasts Green with the Internet Championship, busting her open in the process.
Cardona dodges Effy, who blasts Green again. Effy hits Cardona with a spear, Katch plants him with a piledriver, and Katch piledrives Green onto Cardona for the win.
Winners: BUSSY

Cardona consoles the bloodied Green after the match. He flips off the crowd, and the couple starts to storm away. Before they leave, Cardona says, “GCW is only a promotion” because of him. He says he put GCW on the map before he says the company can “have” the Hammerstein. He says, “F— you, Brett Lauderdale” before he yells, “I quit.”
With Cardona’s clear statement that he quit, it seems like his time in GCW might be over, though this hasn’t been confirmed.
Update: in several tweets, Cardona wrote that he has “lost [his] smile] and stated that he quit GCW. In another tweet, he wrote, “F— this place….” And another post, he announced that he and Green have quit GCW. GCW owner Bret Lauderdale responded with a tweet and simply wrote “bye.”
I have lost my smile.

Cardona won the GCW World Championship when he beat Nick Gage in a Deathmatch at GCW Homecoming. He later lost the title to Jon Moxly at GCW The Art of War Games in September. Cardona then lost his Internet Championship to Effy at GCW Get Lostalot, but he won it back at GCW Fight Club. “The Deathmatch King” later faced Alex Shelley at GCW Most Evil and wound up on the losing side thanks to Effy’s interference. In addition to his GCW run, Cardona currently stars in IMPACT Wrestling, and he recently debuted in the NWA. He also competes for other promotions on the independent scene.
