Thunder Rosa is one step closer to the finals of the AEW TBS Women’s Championship Tournament, as she took down Jamie Hayter in a quarterfinal match on the November 24 episode of AEW Dynamite.
In a hard-fought bout, Rosa overcame adversity and emerged victorious, thanks in part to her ability to keep surviving anything that Hayter threw at her. Late in the match, Hayter was seemingly done for, and she even tapped out in a submission hold. But Rebel ran a bit of interference to distract the referee. Thankfully for Rosa, though, AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker was also at ringside, and she accidentally cost Hayter the match.
Baker inadvertently blasted Hayter with a superkick, and Rosa subsequently rolled her opponent up for the win. This victory pushes Rosa into the semi-finals, where she’ll face Jade Cargill. Rosa will have her work cut out for her in this contest, as Cargill has dominated her way through the tournament so far.
