All Elite Wrestling’s Battle of the Belts event will take place on Saturday, January 8, 2022, the company announced during tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
Battle of the Belts will be a “special Saturday night event” that will take place at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. Nothing has been officially announced for the show yet, but AEW’s champions were shown in a very brief trailer for it. It’s fair to wonder if the event will feature some noteworthy championship matches.
AEW General Manager Tony Khan previously discussed the looming arrival of the event, which had been reported prior to any official announcement. This show will be the first event of its kind for AEW after its flagship show, AEW Dynamite, moves to TBS on January 5, 2022.
Tickets for Battle of the Belts will go on sale on Saturday, November 27, 2022, so fans will have a few days at least to prepare to pick them up. In the meantime, we’ll hope to see more information from All Elite Wrestling on what to expect from the special event.
