Damian Priest opens up about the recent slew of WWE releases.

Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, Nia Jax, and more were all released by WWE on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Several other names, such as Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt had been released throughout this calendar year as well.

Although it can be chalked up to the “nature of the beast,” several WWE Superstars that remain with the company after the releases often feel like they have lost a part of their daily routine, and relationships that are formed are disrupted as well.

WWE United States Champion, Damian Priest is opening up about these releases in a new interview with Metro. Damian, who has had a banner year in 2021 admits to feeling “survivor’s guilt” for a short length of time after the releases before realizing that now, his friends can treat the world as their oyster.

“It’s unfortunate, obviously. It is not just our business – it’s in any business, that’s just the way it goes. I’ve lost more jobs and more opportunities than I count. That’s the unfortunate part of life. Especially in a business where you’re living your dream – so it hurts because we care about these people. We know they’re hurting, so we hurt. It’s unfortunate. It’s like that survivor’s guilt – you feel guilty, but at the same time… it’s an odd feeling. But then you come to the realization – wait a minute, these are all incredible people! They’re gonna be fine! There’s that positive, and that’s always my sentiment. Well, now the world is yours. Go out and grab it!”
