After Keith Lee stated that he paid for his own medical bills while he was sidelined earlier this year, WWE has responded by denying the claim.
In a statement sent to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and other media outlets, WWE emphatically denied any rumors or claims that the company forced Lee to pay for his own medical bills. The statement is as follows:
“Keith Lee’s recent comments implying WWE failed to pay his medical bills are erroneous.
WWE has an extensive healthcare program for the medical care of its in-ring performers and Mr. Lee was part of this program while with the company.
Should Mr. Lee have any concerns over the payment of medical bills, he is welcome to address them with WWE.”

The statement comes as a response to questions about a recent statement from Lee. In a tweet earlier this week, he thanked his fans for their support and looked back on this year, reflecting on a variety of obstacles.
At one point in the message, Lee stated that he had paid all of his medical bills throughout the issues he dealt with earlier this year, and that he found it “amusing” that people would believe anyone else paid for his expenses.
“I paid all my medical bills from many offices and machines I frequented,” wrote Lee. “And, I do find it amusing that people believe anyone but me paid for my medial expenses.”
Thank you for all the positivity that has been dropped on me the past few days as well as the birthday wishes. I love you. Worry not. We are not done. We work.#BaskInMyGlory #iAmLimitless pic.twitter.com/NkxqL6qkWM
