Former X-Division Champion Petey Williams is reportedly getting a tryout as a WWE producer.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Williams is backstage at tonight’s taping of WWE SmackDown in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where he’s getting a tryout as a producer. Williams has been working in the same role for IMPACT Wrestling in recent years; Johnson notes that he was a producer fo IMPACT Bound for Glory and the following set of TV tapings.
Williams had a successful in-ring career with TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, dating back to 2004, and he has competed semi-regularly in recent months. Johnson noted that he’s very respected and well-liked behind the scenes in IMPACT.
