NXT is bringing back the Breakout Tournament, and during the brand’s Great American Bash special, the participants made a brief appearance on the show. The competition will begin on the July 13th episode of WWE NXT, where Ikemen Jiro will face Duke Hudson in a first-round bout.
The lineup is as follows:
Trey Baxter – (Blake Christian) faced Kushida on WWE NXT on June 15.
Carmelo Hayes – (Christian Casanova) Has made two appearances on WWE NXT; he unsuccessfully challenged Kushida for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship on June, and he lost to Adam Cole on June 22.
Ikemen Jiro – Since his debut in May, he has regularly competed on WWE 205 Live
Andre Chase – (Harlem Bravado) Defeated Guru Raaj last week on WWE 205 Live to qualify for the tournament.
Joe Gacy – Defeated Desmond Troy last week on WWE 205 Live to qualify.
Josh Briggs – The Former EVOLVE Champion is set to debut on WWE 205 Live this week.
Odyssey Jones – (Omari Palmer) Set to debut this week’s episode of WWE 205 Live. Jones has previously wrestled in NXT dark matches, and he faced Robert Roode in a dark match before last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
Duke Hudson – (Brendan Vink) Had a brief main roster run, but he hasn’t been seen since the May 11, 2020 episode of WWE Raw.
