Ember Moon recently spoke with Rick Ucchino of SK Wrestling, and she previewed her match at WWE NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day.
Moon called the Finals of the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic her chance to make history, as she hasn’t had the chance to truly etch her name in the history books up to this point.
“I haven’t really had an opportunity to etch my name in history with the women’s revolution, the evolution, you know, I’ve been a part of a lot of firsts but I’ve never been the first at something,” said Moon. “And this is my opportunity to do it with my ride or die partner, Shotzi Blackheart.”
Moon described how she and Blackheart take the prestige of the Dusty Cup quite seriously because they want to live up to the legacy of “The American Dream.”
“Iit’s crazy because everyone thinks that we don’t spend a lot of time together, but that’s all we do,” said Moon. “Like backstage, from when we first found out that we were gonna be a tag team, like you know we were spending every night at her place, my hotel, watching footage, tag matches, everything, so we could be the best tag team that we can possibly be. Because it’s the Dusty, there’s a legacy that comes with winning this tournament. Dusty is immortal ,and we wanna do him well, and we wanna do NXT well.”
On Sunday night, Blackheart and Moon will face Dakota Kai and Raquel González in the finals of the tournament.
