Sydal lost his AEW Dynamite television debut against Shawn Spears, but has picked up wins on AEW Dark against the likes of Michael Nakazawa, Sonny Kiss, and Christopher Daniels since then. He remains winless on TV, though, as he lost to Eddie Kingston and most recently Brian Cage. Now that he’s signed, maybe he’ll pick up a win.
Sydal is well-known for his stints inside Ring of Honor, IMPACT Wrestling, and WWE as Evan Bourne. He most recently competed in ROH’s Pure Championship tournament, losing to eventual winner Jonathan Gresham. The 37-year-old is a one-time WWE Tag Team Champion (with Kofi Kingston) and has held tag belts in ROH (with Christopher Daniels). He had solo success in IMPACT winning both the Grand Championship and X Division belt.
