Get ready for a Super Showdown—WWE’s next trip to Saudi Arabia has been confirmed.
During tonight’s Royal Rumble broadcast, WWE confirmed Super ShowDown would be the next event to take place in Saudi Arabia as part of their current agreement. The event is set for Thursday, February 27 in Riyadh and it will air at noon Eastern time.
This is the second Super Showdown event to take place in Saudi Arabia (the first was June 7, 2018) and the fifth overall event as part of WWE’s ten-year deal with the Saudi General Sports Authority. WWE also hosted Super Show-Down in Australia in 2018.
This is WWE’s first trip back to Saudi Arabia since Crown Jewel took place on October 31, 2018, which was newsworthy due to the issue that saw talent being delayed getting back to the United States. Travel issues from that trip forced WWE to make last-minute changes to that week’s SmackDown, which saw an NXT invasion take place.

WWE had been to Saudi Arabia for two events per year in 2018 and 2019 but was only contractually obligated to run one event per year under their prior agreement. A new deal made official on November 4 revealed they had extended their deal with the SGSA for a “second annual large-scale event” in the region as part of the deal that runs through 2027. Crown Jewel was the event part of the first deal but there was speculation as to what the name of the second event might be.
At the time, a WWE official gave this statement to Wrestlezone after asking for clarification of the ‘second annual large-scale event’ referenced in the press release.
“We have been public in our earnings materials about working on a long-term agreement for a second large-scale event annually; this is that agreement.”
