Jim Alexander of Reel Talker recently interviewed CJ Perry, also known as WWE superstar Lana. (H/T to Paul Jordan of PWInsider.) Perry discussed various topics, including controversial storylines and her acting career.
On love and romance:
Perry: “Well, I’ve always felt like love is a choice and I feel like that’s why matchmaking works, for centuries and centuries. And I feel like if you open yourself up to someone and give yourself a shot [and] the relationship a shot, if you really open yourself up, I feel like you really can fall in love with a lot of people.”
“I feel like our life is a book, and some people are gonna have a book that all the chapters are with the same person, and some people are gonna have a book that, different chapters, they’re gonna have different relationships and different marriages.”
On the love triangle with Rusev and Bobby Lashley:
Perry: “I really am having so much fun, I feel very fortunate to be able to do what I love for a living. We’re storytellers and at the end of the day, we’re telling a story that people relate to. We all know someone that has broken up, we all know someone who has gotten divorced, we all know people that have fallen out of love, we’ve all known someone who has cheated. We’re storytellers and I feel like that’s my destiny in life, to tell stories. People might hate me right now but I think partly the reason people hate the Ravishing Russian is because people know someone like that…. If you don’t have an incredible villain, you don’t need an incredible hero.”
