The AEW Dynamite match had a 10-minute time limit and Jericho had boasted that he would easily take out the Jurassic Express member within the time. That wasn’t the case, though. Despite some early athletic counters by Jungle Boy, “Le Champion” was largely in control. Jake Hager and Luchasaurus got into it ringside after Hager attacked Jungle Boy and got thrown out as a result.

This left Jericho alone against Jungle Boy, and he took advantage of his hurt opponent early on. However, the son of Luke Perry continued to fight and showed tremendous heart by escaping several pin attempts. With just seconds left, Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho, but time expired before Jungle Boy could tap. Jericho then demanded to get five more minutes with his foe and the request was granted.

Jungle Boy was able to compose himself after the break and nearly pinned Jericho with a crucifix. An angry Jericho then grabbed his belt and left, giving Jungle Boy a win via countout.
