Cody Rhodes is still undefeated within All Elite Wrestling, but he didn’t pick up a win. In his second singles match, the AEW Executive Vice President faced off against indie star Darby Allin. His opponent tried to play mind games by bringing out a body bag meant for Rhodes, but he was willing to play some of his own with his wife Brandi by his side. Rhodes mocked his smaller opponent at times by doing push-ups inside the ring early on, but Allin eventually earned respect from his foe and began getting in some offense of his own.

Allin’s offense wound up backfiring as he attempted a coffin drop from the top rope and hit the apron after Cody rolled out of the way. Rhodes put Allin in the body bag while the referee just stood there and then landed a disaster kick but Allin kicked out. Rhodes then used his belt on Allin, which he wasn’t disqualified over for some reason, and hit his finisher but the 20-minute time limit expired.

After the match, Shawn Spears came out and hit Rhodes with a chair to the back to the head. This left Rhodes bloodied inside the middle of the ring.
