Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer stated on latest episode of “Wrestling Observer Radio” with Bryan Alvarez that EC3 was indeed buried by WWE after receiving a poor reaction from fans after the once top IMPACT star was booked to beat Dean Ambrose in two minutes on RAW months ago.
According to Meltzer, who was recapping the now instantly infamous Talk Is Jericho episode with Jon Moxley, giving up on EC3 because of his “program” with Ambrose is exactly what WWE did. Meltzer’s quote is below:
It is! Of course it is! The very next week or the week after they beat EC3 with a guy that was leaving the company. That’s a 100% what happened. It’s ridiculous.
Meltzer continues:
So to then, after a guy that has one TV match that was two and a half minutes and he’s not getting cheered at the house shows, to then give up on him, that’s insanity, but that in fact, is exactly what they did.
