2012 saw arguably the biggest WrestleMania in WWE history up to that point. While the show in Florida was a big deal for WWE, 2012 itself was quite an interesting year. It was one of those rare years where only one person was WWE Champion for the entire calendar year. We hadn’t seen that type of a reign in years.
Unfortunately, CM Punk‘s long title reign was overshadowed by John Cena, who was constantly main eventing despite not holding the championship. That doesn’t mean that the product was bad by any means, because the quality of the show in 2012 was quite solid, even if not as gripping as 2011.
