Bayley On How She Got Into WWE, The Athletic Demands Of Being A WWE Superstar

WWE Superstar Bayley was recently a guest on “Great Day Live!” to promote tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live in Louisville, Kentucky. Bayley talked about how she got into WWE and explained the physical demands of being a WWE Superstar.

Here are some of the highlights:

How she became a WWE Superstar:

I was just a huge fan growing up, started watching when I was 10, knew that I wanted to do this when I was 11. Then I became a crazy, obsessed fan. I had posters everywhere, and once I turned 18 I started training with a school called Big Time Wrestling in Newark, California, I was the only girl. So I just pushed myself, and they were hard, they were rough on me, you know, being the only girl. Then I somehow got noticed, luckily, and got a WWE tryout. And now I’m here, six years later.

The physicality it takes to compete in the ring:

Yeah, it’s a lot harder than a lot of people think, I think. We’re a show, we’re performers and everything, but if you’re not mentally there, and if you’re not physically there, it’s a lot harder. It’s a lot of training outside of just the ring. You have to get to the gym every day, you have to make sure you rest, you have to eat well. You have to always have your body ready for anything that can happen inside the wrestling ring.
