Finn Balor Responds To Sam Roberts’ Claim That He Can’t Win Big Matches Without The Demon

WWE caught up with Finn Balor after his Elimination Chamber Intercontinental Championship victory over Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush.

The newly crowned Intercontinental Champion was asked about Sam Roberts‘ Kickoff Show comments that he was unable to win big matches without assistance from The Demon. Balor responded, “[laughter] Unlike Sam Roberts, I like to do my talking in the ring and I know Sam Roberts has a face for radio, so maybe he should stay on it.”

Balor also opened up about what it feels like to win the Intercontinental Championship, “Obviously, I’m very happy. The last time I won a title was over two years ago. I couldn’t really enjoy the moment. I couldn’t really soak it in. Obviously, there was a lot of other issues at hand, but thankfully I’m feeling pretty good. The body’s good. I don’t know if you could see, but I could raise the title over my head out there in Houston, so I’m feeling pretty good and I’m pretty sure that this title reign is gonna last longer than 22 hours.”

Balor also commented on the odds he overcame in  2 on 1 Handicap Match, “The odds have been stacked against me my whole career. I like it that way. Being the underdog suits me. People seem to underestimate Finn Balor every time, but every time I step into the ring, I deliver and I am the new Intercontinental Champion.”
