Former WWE Superstar Al Snow was a recent guest on Powerbomb: The Podcast. Snow opened up about his time in WWE and what he thinks about Cody Rhodes and All Elite Wrestling. Highlights appear below.

Al Snow On His Personal Health:
[Snow responds to a compliment on his physical looks] It’s curb appeal. You pull up and it looks fantastic from the street and you get into the house and there are floorboards that are warped, and pipes are leaking, shingles are starting to lose their color.
On How Far He Took His Friendship With Head:
At that point in time, I would go out to eat and travel by myself. I’d go out to eat and it would be me and Head sitting in a restaurant. I’d sit at the table and I would buy dinner for both of us and I’d talk to it. At the time, I did that because there might be people in the restaurant watching and if they’re flipping the channels and they happen to see me, they’d be like, ‘Hey, remember that guy that was in the restaurant? He’s on TV and he’s out of his mind!’ And they would believe it. They would believe what seems ridiculous and absurd for anyone else on the roster to do made complete and total sense for me to do and get over.
The Scripted Nature Of Wrestling Compared To Magic Shows:
Never forget that back in the day there were people attending wrestling shows by the thousands. Historically, they always had. Contrary to popular belief these days, everybody that attended knew that the outcomes were pre-determined, knew that professional wrestling was a work, knew that it was fake. They didn’t care. They got what they paid to see….it’s no different than going to watch a magician do a magic show. You’ll pay money, if the guy’s a really good magician. You know the guy’s not really defying the laws of physics and gravity or alternating reality. He’s not legitimately doing it. Criss Angel will have his own television show. People in Vegas will spend a ton of money on tickets to watch these guys in their own theater and casinos. Casinos will spend millions of dollars on these shows because they know they’re getting a return on investment and they know they’re getting a return on investment because these people pay to see it. They know it’s not real and wrestling is no different. A good magician that they pay to see is going to go through such great lengths to, while you’re watching it, allow you to believe in what he’s doing. Professional wrestlers, I can encourage to be the exact same thing….that ultimately is what I’m attempting to do in OVW, in my own way.
On The Upcoming Release Of His Autobiography:
I actually have a book coming out this year, an autobiography. They talked me into doing it. I don’t know why. I don’t find my own life that interesting, but apparently others do. It’s called Self Help: Life Lessons From The Bizarre Wrestling Career Of Al Snow. I wanted to title it How To Take Crap & Make Shoe Polish and Other Life Lessons I Learned From Wrestling. I believe it’s going to release in April of May of this year.
