After another long hiatus from WWE, John Cena returned in a post-Christmas live event in Madison Square Garden, defeating Baron Corbin in a singles match.
Baron Corbin was in the ring to initially take on Braun Strowman, but since Strowman is still recovering from his surgically-repaired elbow, Corbin would win by forfeit. This would cause WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to enter the ring and announce a replacement opponent for the former acting general manager of RAW.

The 16-time World Champion would proceed to hit his trademark moves in front of the New York City audience, beating Corbin in fairly quick fashion.
Cena has been in-and-out from WWE television since WrestleMania 34, where he was beaten in a squash match against The Undertaker. Since then, he has made sporadic appearances with his most recent being at WWE Super Show-Down.
