During ROH’s Death Before Dishonor fromer NWA Heavyweight champion, Nick Aldis, challenged Cody to a two-out-of-three falls match. Aldis, on commentary for the co-main event, had to wait until the match was over to get his answer. Once Cody found out, he readily accepted.
Cody defeated Aldis for the title at the 9/1 All In event. Aldis won the right for a rematch by defeating Doug Williams during Wrestling MediaCon earlier this month. The two will meet in a rematch for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight title match at the NWA 70th anniversary show.
The show will take place on October 21 at the Nashville Fairgrounds in Tennessee. Tony Schiavone and Jim Cornette have been added to the show and will call the main event.
