It’s official – the New Day will make history starting tomorrow as the longest reigning tag team in WWE’s entire history. The Raw brand tag champions currently stand at 476 days, and in just two days will surpass the long-running record of 478 held by Demolition.

It wasn’t an easy road by any stretch of the imagination, as all three members of the New Day were in action in not one, but two title defenses against four teams, containing two other champions. Big E and Kofi Kingsston kicked off the night by successfully retaining the straps against Cesaro and Sheamus, as well as Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows in a triple threat tag match, but after their backstage celebration got out of hand and Stephanie McMahon ended up covered in champagne, a second defense was scheduled for the WWE Raw main event. This time it was Big E and team leader Xavier Woods who entered the ring, taking on WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens and his “best friend” Chris Jericho, as well as former SHIELD brothers Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in their second triple threat match of the night.

Just to drop some names, The New Day collective has held on to their titles longer than dozens of teams, including legendary names like The Valiant Brothers, The British Bulldogs, The Hart Foundation, The Wild Samoans, The Legion of Doom, Strike Force, The Smoking Gunns, The New Age Outlaws, Team Angle, Los Guerreros, and in just three days…Demolition.
