As noted, Joey Styles was recently released from WWE but the reason for Styles’ release is not yet known.

Coincidentally, Styles stopped Tweeting on July 29th, which was right after he conducted a controversial Facebook Q&A hosted by Cathy Kelley which some could speculate might have had something to do with his release, or at least garnered Styles some backstage heat in WWE. The interview was later deleted from Facebook.

It’s worth noting Styles actually foreshadowed his WWE release during the Q&A, at one point joking that people will remember the Q&A as it’s “what got him fired from WWE”.

Other things that Styles talked about, including his feelings on why Vince McMahon continues to push Roman Reigns, were also controversial segments from the Q&A. Styles also talked about WWE editing the interviews that are conducted and only the live ones really contain the honesty that host Cathy Kelley said she enjoyed about the Styles Q&A.

Additionally, Styles used the term “belt” when referring to the WWE NXT Womens Title, and noted the word “belt” is a big no-no in WWE as the words “Championship” and “Title” are supposed to be used instead. He said his use of the word “belt” would likely get him in trouble with WWE management.

Styles was also very critical of the 3 man commentary teams in WWE, calling the idea “horrible”.

Another thing Styles said “might get him fired” was his comment about the WWE Universal Title not being called the WWE Universe Title. He added WWE fans don’t like either name, and he would have preferred the names “WWE Smackdown Championship” and “WWE Raw Championship.”

Lastly, Styles was asked if WWE caters to the IWC, and Styles said “no”, otherwise Roman Reigns would not be getting pushed when the IWC clearly doesn’t want him to.
