the young bucksAs noted, top indy tag team The Young Bucks announced this week they have signed an exclusive North American deal with Ring of Honor.

The deal will last for over a year, and will allow The Bucks to continue working with PWG and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

According to WZ Daily regular Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com, prior to signing with ROH The Bucks had preliminary discussions with every major wrestling promotion, including NXT. The report notes that while The Bucks did have talks with other promotions, a bidding war never took place, and ROH was the only promotion serious about locking the team down to exclusive deals.

With regards to NXT, it’s being said talks between WWE officials and The Young Bucks never got serious, but there were several members of the NXT top brass pushing for them to be signed.

New Japan Pro Wrestling was said to be instrumental in helping ROH sign The Young Bucks, as NJPW officials wanted the Bucks to work a lighter schedule since they were working so many dates.
