AJ Styles made his television return to Impact Wrestling this week, carrying his version of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Styles interrupted the coronation ceremony of the new TNA Champion, Magnus, which also included Dixie Carter, Rockstar Spud and Ethan Carter III. Despite protest from Dixie, Styles challenged Magnus to an Undisputed World Championship match – two belts, one winner – on next week's episode of Impact Wrestling.
For those wondering, this week's Impact was pre-recorded a month ago. AJ Styles has not signed a new contract with TNA Wrestling, and according to Magnus the deal for next week's match (which has already been recorded as well) is a "one night only" contract to have the blow-off match between the two champions. As of the most recent reports, AJ's deal fell through with TNA, and he will not be making a return to the company any time soon.
