Report: Top Independent Star Expected To Sign With AEW/ROH

All Elite Wrestling continues to bring in noteworthy names, and it’s clear that the company doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon. AEW President Tony Khan’s recent acquisition of Ring of Honor has opened the door to many possibilities, and now a top champion is expected to work for both of Khan’s companies.

According to Fightful Select, reigning Original ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham is expected to sign with AEW/ROH, as assets indicating his arrival have been produced. The

“working plan” calls for “The Octopus” to work some dates for AEW. Though the signing hasn’t been confirmed by Gresham, AEW, or ROH, Fightful cited IMPACT sources who “expect him to be in AEW soon.” Gresham has been frequently competing on IMPACT programming since January, and the promotion just announced that he’ll face Eddie Edwards at the Rebellion pay-per-view on April 23.

Fightful’s report also noted that there have at least been discussions to “integrate”  Supercard of Honor into the announcement about Gresham’s signing, but this hasn’t been confirmed.

Gresham continues to wrestle for various promotions; he recently won the PROGRESS World Championship at the company’s Chapter 130 show.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
