PWG Names Jonah Rock As First Entrant In Battle Of Los Angeles 2022

Pro Wrestling Guerilla (PWG) has announced that Jonah Rock, formerly known as Bronson Reed in WWE, is the first entrant in the 2022 Battle of Los Angeles.

Rock, a former WWE NXT North American Champion, was released during a wave of budget cuts on August 6. He has been taking bookings in recent weeks, and the Australian native has notably popped up in IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (on its NJPW STRONG brand.)

From 2005-2019, the Battle of Los Angeles was one of the most buzzworthy tournaments in the independent wrestling world, as it often featured some of the industry’s brightest stars. Names like Kenny Omega, El Generico (Sami Zayn), Kyle O’Reilly, Adam Cole, Ricochet, Bandido, Jeff Cobb and Ricochet have won the tournament in the past. The COVID-19 pandemic forced PWG to cancel the tournament in 2020 and 2021, but it’ll be back in 2022.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
