Nick Gage Respects Matt Cardona’s Grind In WWE, Still Plans To Hurt Him At GCW Homecoming

In recent weeks, Nick Gage and Matt Cardona (formerly known as WWE star Zack Ryder) have been engaged in an increasingly heated rivalry. The two foes will face off at GCW Homecoming Night 1,

but in a recent appearance on NotSam Wrestling, Gage admitted that he respected Cardona, at least before the former WWE Intercontinental Champion picked a fight with him.

“Before he did all that clown s—- and I was messing with him a little bit on Twitter, I had mad respect for that guy, man,” said Gage. “We’re talking about a guy who’s been in the WWF, I don’t know how many years, but it’s definitely been over a decade. And him and Brian Myers, I just respect them. And I’m a wrestler at heart and I just respect them grinding for all those years in that place. And they just would never give them a shot or how about, he climbed the ladder and won the Intercontinental title in front of 100,000 people at WrestleMania. How awesome was that?”

Still, Gage made it clear that by entering his domain in GCW, Cardona is in for a world of hurt.

“And now you’re gonna go in the ring with me, and there’s gonna be glass surrounding you, and we’re gonna go, and we’re gonna go,” said Gage. “He’s stepping into my world, and we already know what it is, man. It’s violence, it’s blood, it’s gory. And I’m gonna cut him, and he’s gonna start feeling that burn and all that stuff.”
