It won’t be long before the wrestling universe gets to witness Mickie James back to in-ring action.
Announced today on her official Instagram, Mickie James revealed that not only will she be the executive producer of NWA’s EMPOWERRR pay-per-view on August 28th, but she will also be a part of NWA’s 73rd Anniversary pay-per-view event the following night on August 29th, in an in-ring capacity:
“On the anniversary show, I am announcing that I am going to wrestle at NWA-73, and I am looking for an opponent, and so I want you [the audience], to tell Billy [Corgan] who you want to see me wrestle. Who wants to wrestle me at NWA 73? That is the big question.”
James added on with a second announcement:
“Also I wanted to say, finding talent for EMPOWERRR–and really the landscape is so vast, it’s really, really awesome, but I also promise that I would give opportunities for that untapped talent, unsigned talent, those diamonds-in-the-rough, and I want to know who those people are. I try to keep up with women’s wrestling and I’ve followed it,” she explained, “I’m really excited about the weekend [of EMPOWERRR], and for the chance to lace up my boots again, and show that I never lost it.”
With no official card or talent announcements made yet, James continued on to say that she is actively looking to book more female for NWA’s upcoming EMPOWERRR pay-per-view:
“For those diamonds-in-the-rough, I want you to email me your packages, your tapes, your promos, whatever it is that you send to promoters. Send me that…cause’ I’m looking for you.”
